Kate Hudson is an accomplished actor, most famous for her part as Penny Lane in the Hollywood film Almost Famous which resulted in her receiving an Academy Award nomination. Her family is full of film stars and actors, she was always in the limelight since her childhood. Her mother Goldie Hawn is a famous film actor, and her father Bill Hudson is a comedian. At a very young age she was an avid performer and would seize every opportunity to perform on stage. As a child her parents offered dance classes and she studied at the Santa Monica Playhouse. She began acting when she was given a guest appearance on the TV drama Party of Five in the year 1996. While she was accepted to New York University, Kate Hudson was more keen on pursuing a job as an entrepreneur in the showbiz industry than earning the pursuit of a degree. After a few minor roles in films and commercials, she was offered the part that would turn into one of her major roles in her career. She was chosen to play Penny Lane in the comedy-drama film Almost Famous. The film failed in terms of box office revenue however, it did receive positive reviews from critics. It established Kate as an actor within the American film industry.
