Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and businesswoman for over 20 years. She founded The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of over 15 books. Arianna Huffington works as an writer, journalist, TV host and the owner of The Huffington Post. She emigrated out of Greece to England at the age of 16 and earned an MA at Cambridge University in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student to graduate, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at age 21. She became a conservative syndicated writer after the graduation ceremony and, when The Huffington Post launched a year following, she launched an online platform to voice opinions with a critique of current politics. Her fame helped in attracting several famous contributors. Arianna gained fame in 2003 after she decided to run independently for the California recall election in order to succeed the then governor Davis. In addition, she led the Detroit project to promote fuel efficient cars. In 2009 she was recognized by Forbes as The most influential women in the media, achieving 12th place on the listing and the following year Guardian included her in the top 100 media list. AOL acquired The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. She was then made the president of the media division at AOL. It included a number of AOL-owned brands, including Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Their parents are Elli and Konstantinos Stasinopoulos who was who was a consultant in management as well as a journalist. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with both of her parents but it was their connection that helped shape her. In her earliest years, she exhibited leadership skills for which she is still well-known. When she was 16, she moved from the United States to the United Kingdom and enrolled Girton College Cambridge. In her college years she joined the Cambridge Union debating group where she became the first female president and only foreign president. In 1972, she earned the degree of Master in Economics. Following her degree, she was a columnist-critic and a host on TV. Also, she appeared on an edition of Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books, utilizing editorial guidance from Bernard Levin.
