Taylor

Taylor Swift is that rarest of pop phenomenons: a superstar who managed to seamlessly transition from country to the mainstream becoming an enduring popular icon, and sweeping all over the world at the same time. Swift shed her country roots as though they were part of her skin, revealing she was arguably the smartest pop-oriented singer/songwriter of her time, someone who was able to harness the current zeitgeist and make it personal and also perform in the opposite direction. This was evident in her earliest hits especially the Neo-Tribute Tim McGraw but her second album 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out her true identity and in the process, finding the mass market. Fearless became a worldwide hit, not only in the United States (where it was certified six times platinum for the Top Ten Hits Love Story as well as "You Belong with Me") but in Canada, Australia and the U.K. and many other countries. The Swift's Speak Now album released two years ago, consolidated her prior popularity and launched the singer into superstardom. The three albums following the three albums that followed -- Red 2012 1989, Red 2012 as well as Reputation 2017 -- Swift's success only grew. That was an obvious indicator that Swift had entered a new pop world which she was able to fit into. Although she slowed down her style with the 2020's stripped-down siblings' folklore and Evermore she remained atop the world of pop, a position that she maintained through re-recordings from her older catalogs as well as Midnights which was her top-charting synthesizer 2022 set.
