Lee
Lee Roy Selmon's life story blends the virtues of family football scholarships and volunteering for the community. Selmon is the youngest of children from Lucious Selmon and Jessie Selmon, who took care of him at the farm they owned in Eufala. He was also one of three siblings that represented Oklahoma in football. All three were All-Americans. Lucious Jr. Dewey & Lee Roy started for one season in 1973. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was the top lineman for across the country. For three years, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy being the starting player. The team also took home 2 national titles. As a National Football Foundation Scholarship-Athlete, Selmon received an award for his third season in the year 1975. Selmon earned a degree in education. Lee Roy's fourth service included ten hours per week as a volunteer in college. He moved to Tampa after college, was a member of the Buccaneers for nine seasons and played three times in the all-pro league. His business career began. By 1988, he became an Account Representative for Tampa's First Florida Bank. He was also involved with these organisations: Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982, the Junior Chamber of Commerce honored him in 1982 as being one of the top 10 young men in the US. Lee Roy weighed 256 lbs and was a tall of 6-2. While he was in college, he commanded the team of 1975. In 1993 he joined at the University of South Florida as the associate director of athletics. He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame by his fellow members of the GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame of 1994 as well as by in the Pro Football Hall of Fame of 1995. In 1989, the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation awarded the Distinguished American Award, to Mr. Lucious Selmon and his wife. The presentation was made by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
